The first quarter is coming to a close on October 23rd, and I am very pleased with the progress of all the students in the Upper Learning Center.
October will conclude with a very busy schedule for our students and student athletes. The Crusader Basketball team will host a game this Friday, October 23rd at 6 p.m. This is followed by three road games over a nine day period: Monday, October 26th in Fairfield; Thursday, October 29th in Antioch; and Monday, November 2nd in Napa. In addition to this, we are conducting rehearsals for our annual Christmas Drama three days per week. This is a taxing time, and it is very important that the students remain focused on their assignments and avoid falling behind. You can help me by holding them responsible to you for their daily work. If you need help using the parent module on your student’s laptop please stop by and I will instruct you in its usage.
Please make sure to keep your scheduled parent conference appointment. If you have not received your appointment please contact the school office right away and speak with Mrs. Smith.
Thank you for your support.
That’s right parents and teens! It is nearly time for another school year to start! Only twenty-seven more days until we begin another year of classes!
We have three new students in our classroom this year: Lynea, Ryan, and Serif. I trust that all of you “old hands” will make them feel welcome in our class.
We will hit the ground running this year. Basketball training will begin immediately following the start of school and Christmas program rehearsals will begin right after our annual retreat to Mt. Gilead. It will be a “fast” start into the school year, and I am looking forward to a great year!
Please make plans to attend the Parent Orientation scheduled for Friday, August 21st. We will meet and discuss the changes for the coming year. You will not want to miss this important meeting. If you have any questions please be sure and contact me directly. I am looking forward, with great anticipation, to the start of the new year!
I want to take this opportunity to wish all of you a Happy Valentine’s Day. Following are important dates for you to remember:
If you have any questions concerning these or other matters please do not hesitate to contact me.
Time waits for no man. This is a very old, and very true, statement. Our annual retreat is behind us, and it is time now to focus on the Harvest Carnival. There is much work to be done, and I am counting on all of you to help me reach our goal this year.
Please stop by the classroom and sign up to work one of the game booths, as well as donate some of the items posted. Together we can make this carnival a great success for our school. Please speak to me if you need more information.
Also, please remember the “farewell party” for Jacob this Friday. Bring along some snacks and help us say goodbye to Jacob and Mrs. Graves.
