Dive Into Learning!

Sunday, August 21st, 2011

As you enter our classroom you will see a pleasant bulletin board entitled: Dive Into Learning. For many of the students entering our Learning To Read program this is an accurate description of what will take place this year. Everything will be new and exciting for them; and, everything will be exciting for me as well.

The first few days we will take time to acclimate the children to their new daily routine and the new rules and expectations they must learn to obey. During this time, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak with me.

I look forward to working with you throughout this school year. Together, I am confident that we can teach your child all they need to know about reading and writing, as well as give them a knowledge and understanding of God our Father.

November News

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

November is such an exciting time for our students.

It will begin with our trip to the Wells Fargo Center, Wednesday, November 10th. We will leave the school at  8:45 a.m. If you are scheduled to drive, please make sure you arrive early enough to install the car seats in your vehicle. Also, if you have not yet paid for your tickets please do so right away.

Next, we will conduct our annual Pilgrim’s Feast celebration on Thursday, November 18th, 11:30 a.m. Students will learn all about the pilgrims and their first Thanksgiving feast. This is always a special time for the students and the parents alike. Make plans to be present with us for this event. If you could help and would like to provide food for the students speak with me and I will give you some suggestions.

Fine Arts is also just around the corner. Our boys and girls will compete in the singing competitions, and we would love to have you present for this. The competitions will take place on Monday, November 22nd, at 9:00 a.m. Students may also compete in drawing/coloring and crafts. For more information on this speak with Mr. Abshire.

I would like to welcome all the new students and families to our Learning To Read program.

First, allow me to thank all of you parents who have entrusted us with your most precious treasure; your children. Together this year, we will usher your child into a new and exciting world; one in which they will learn to read and write. We consider it a great privilege to be a part of the foundation of your child’s entire educational future. We pledge to you our total commitment to this task.

Please go to the following link for a list of supplies your child will need for this school year: http://bbcacrusaders.org/supply_list.pdf. I will contact you as more supplies are needed throughout the year. Also, please remember to visit our website regularly for important updates and information on: field trips, fundraising events, etc.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you throughout this coming year.

Greetings to all families; new and returning. We are so excited about our program for this year. Allow me to share some of the early highlights with you.

Our first field trip is just around the corner. On Friday, September 19th, we will embark on a great adventure as our students will be bound for SONOMA TRAIN TOWN. We will leave the school at 9:15 a.m. and should return shortly after noon. Parents are also welcome to join us on this adventure. If you wish to attend and/or drive students on this field trip, please complete the driver form (to be sent home soon) and return it to the school office. Mrs. Smith will inform you of any information needed.

Every October our school conducts one of our two main fund-raising events, our annual “Harvest Carnival.” This event is very important to our school, and we call upon every family to help out. More details will be forthcoming, but please plan on volunteering your time and talents to this event. Please speak with me soon to volunteer in one of the areas needed: set-up, clean-up, donations, and game hosts to name just a few.

Lastly, I want to express my most heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Debra Taylor and Mrs. Julie Downs. These two wonderful ladies will serve as my classroom assistant throughout this school year. Their contribution has been and will be invaluable to me and to your children. Please take a moment to thank them for the love, care, and concern they are showing for each of your children.

Please do not hesitate to come to me with any questions or concerns you may have. I am here to help you and your children.
