Volleyball…Oh So Close!

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

The volleyball team went on the road again to play the Eagles of Calvary Baptist in Fairfield.  As usual in Fairfield, we played in the sun, with the wind blowing.  But we’ll do our best anytime, anywhere.  The first game went to the Eagles, and the second to the Crusaders.  The third game went back to the Eagles, and the fourth to the Crusaders.  This meant we had to play the all important game 5, which only goes to 15 points.  It was a tight game, but the Eagles finally bested us in a 15-12 win, giving them the match.  That makes our record 5 and 3.  Once again we’ll be on the road playing the Hopewell Huskies next Tuesday, March 31.

Girls volleyball – on a roll!

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

This last week, the volleyball team won games against Bethel and American Canyon.  We traveled to El Sobrante and Mare Island, and the girls put their skills to the test by winning on the road (always tough to do).

This week we will face Fairfield at their home on Friday.  We do need drivers so please contact us if you can help!

Good job Crusaders, let’s keep the streak alive!

Crusaders Volleyball: Win vs American Canyon

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

The Girls Volleyball Team got their third match win of the season against the Blazers of American Canyon.  They won in three straights sets (the ‘games’ are now called sets, the best of 5 sets is a match).  In this game Coach Andrews was able to let everyone rotate in and gain some game-time experience.  Congrats to the team for playing good three-ball volleyball and working as a team!

Hannah Andrews lead the squad with the most service points in a row at 9 serves.

The Crusaders now have a match record of three wins and two losses (Wins against Heritage, American Canyon, Fairfield and losses against Arlington, Hopewell)
