Last 10K race results

December 23rd, 2008

What a great race!  It was cold but there were lots of people to cheer us on.  Thanks so much to the cheering section.  I don’t have the official times in yet, but I have been informed that Ryan took 2nd place for his age division and David took first for his age division.  I fully expect that multiple personal records were set.  Good job guys!

Cross country running for Dec

November 19th, 2008

I just updated the school calendar with all the practices for December.  Please note:

1)  We have a race coming up Dec 20th.  Everybody needs to be at every practice and put in 110% effort.

2)  I’ve scheduled practice on days when school is out sometimes.  Everyone needs to make every practice unless I receive 24 hour notice that you have a conflict.  With 24 hour notice I will accept pretty much any excuse.  With less than 24 hour notice I will only accept “emergencies” as legitimate excuses and I will determine what constitutes an emergency.

3)  We’re going to start having rain which will effect practices.  It is each runner’s job to check the online school calendar a half hour before practice to confirm that practice has not been cancelled.  If I am going to cancel practice I will update the calendar at least a half hour before practice.

Please let me know if you have any questions:  Brian Petro

Boys Cross Country Update

November 11th, 2008

Important note to all runner’s parents:

1)  We’ve got a race coming up the morning of Saturday Dec 20th in Santa Rosa.  I’ll be signing up for the race this week.  I need every runner to confirm that they will be running the race immediately.  I’ll be paying the race admission out of the funds that we raised with the car wash so I won’t need any money.

2)  I’m working on purchasing some team running shirts.  All runners need to let me know what size to purchase.  The shirts cost around $40 so make sure you tell me the correct size.  They will not shrink at all so don’t buy big thinking they will shrink.  Here’s the sizing chart:  http://www.runningbanana.com/chart.html  Please get back to me with this sizes immediately.  We just gained some new team members yesterday and I want to make sure they stick before purchasing shirts for them so for this first round we’ll just be purchasing for Michael, James and David.  I will be using funds that we raised during our car wash to make this purchase so I won’t need any money.

3)  I’m looking at what races we should run in 2009.  Please let me know for each runner if they can make each race:

  • Saturday March 21 - San Francisco
  • Saturday March 28 - Napa
  • Saturday May 9 - Santa Rosa

We won’t be doing all these races.  I’m just trying to find out which ones the runners are available for.
